You could try the GUI built around ExifTool.

I've used it in the past and it does correctly modify all the time fields while some other tools like Lightroom do not.įinally, I wouldn't recommend using Lightroom for this purpose it just doesn't change all the necessary time fields so that if you do a search for files outside of Lightroom using Finder or Windows Explorer you will get misleading results. I would also suggest taking a look a GeoSetter (it runs ExifTool in the background) it is also an extremely powerful utility, and the older PhotoMe.Īnother tool that will work exceptionally well is Attribute Magic Pro. Are you using the ExifTool Direct Window at the bottom of the middle window? Then once you're done you can point DLPro at the temporary file location and instruct it to move (import) the files to the permanent location.Īll that said, I don't see why you're having problems with EXIFTool GUI. You just set up a preferred file naming template, then click on Tools > Batch Rename, select the renaming template and the files are renamed. You can also use BBPro to rename the files since it uses the same token system as DLPro. Then from the BBPro menu click on Tools > Adjust Image Date/Time and enter the offset and the files will be updated. The way I'd approach the problem is put all the files in a temporary location then sort them into folders based on the amount of time each batch needs to be shifted.

All you need is the trial version since this isn't a task that should take more than about an hour and the trial version is free to use for at least two weeks. With BBP its a trivial exercise to shift time stamps you can also use it to batch rename files and it integrates seamlessly with Downloader Pro.

You probably found a solution by now, but in case you haven't I would suggest using the sister program to Downloader Pro - BreezeBrowser Pro: I've not tested it out, since I don't have any photos that need it, but I've found, their batch utilities to be pretty reliable overall.ĪCDSee offers a free trial so you would have time to experiment. It's a wizard UI, you select the photos you want to change, click on the 'batch' menu at the top of the screen, and select "Adjust Time Stamp". Since it's cheaper, it's worth looking into I suspect. And I'm ''reasonably" certain that ACDSee 17 (Which is really just the photo management part of Pro 7 without the other stuff added) offers it as well. One big reason I want to get the right date & time on my images is that I use a program that renames the files into a date-and-time based system, and I want those to be correct.ĪCDSee Pro 7 does it for sure.

I've got EXIFToolGUI, but it has the distressing problem of locking up after processing about 40 images.Īny good software out there? Obviously I'd like freeware, but in this case I'm ready to spend some money. The GUI programs I've seen generally don't do RAW files.

(I'm currently restoring 6100 files from backup to redo them after discovering multiple stupid mistake I made trying to adjust one set of images but applying adjustments to a different set.)

Because I just keep making mistakes trying to get batch files right for EXIFTOOL. I'm running Windows 7, and I'm specifically looking for a GUI-based program. MOV files from the cameras may also be in the mix. Cameras include Nikon V1, V2, D800e (all NEF format) and Canon s95 (CR2 and JPG format). I'm currently processing 6000+ photos (long European tour) that need to have date & time adjusted.
