Youshimatsu - Fuzzy Bird Sonata Pour Saxophone Alto en Mib Et Piano (Alto Saxophone & Piano) Prelude, Cadence Et Finale - Alfred Desenclos 219144413-Saxophone-Paul-bonneau-Caprice-en-Forme-de-Valse.pdf. As the Saxophone is commonly associated with the jazz style, classical music for the instrument had always been lacking, so when Paul Bonneau composed his Caprice en forme de Valse for solo Saxophone in 1950, it was well-received by performers and listeners of the genre. For many years, I hae taught Paul Bonneau's Caprice en Forme de Valse to my most advanced high school students for either New York All-State auditions or college auditions. It is a fun work to teach to the right type of student. This past summer one of my students had a family member in Paris. Knowing that getting some French literature can be challenging to acquire here, the student asked me for a list of works his relative might pick up while in Paris. The Bonneau was amongst a list of about 6 works I had the relative pick up for the student. Much to my surprise when we began to work on the piece this week, the student brought a version I had never seen before.entitled something like Deux Caprices for Saxophone et Orchestra. The piece I know as the Caprice en forme de Valse is the second movement of this work, and a piano part is included. I have been studying this piece in its one movement unnaccompanied format for 30 years, and had never heard of this version. Lirc serial receiver how to buy. Anybody have any backround on the w/piano or Orchestra version? Anybody heard it performed? Just curious. Yes I have heard the two movement format with piano, and don't particularly like it. The other movement is mediocre and the piano part for me doesn't enhance the caprice en forme de valse. All this said, the person performing the work really enjoyed playing it with piano. They thought that it opened up all new possibilites for interpretation and gave them a new lease of life on a work that they had been performing for years. It really comes down to personal taste, which for me is keep it solo and one movt. Yeah back at Indiana State University they had that version. I think Harry Gee ordered it. I think the piano part would be really nice as a rehearsal tool. It could really expose the underlying harmonies and also give the performer a reason to play with exact time. That is the complaint I've heard most at masterclasses over the years: The 'Waltz' portion of the title is often not convincing enough.Of course, that is the difficulty of the piece.playing it beautifully and keeping a good lilt going despite playing in 5 sharps.:) I'd be interested to know if there is indeed a recording floating around. I may get flamed for this one. When I was working hard on legit sax, it seemed to me that all my colleagues listened to nothing but legit sax music. There's a lot of music out there, folks. IMHO the way to get the best waltz feel for the Caprice is to listen to a bunch of Viennese orchestras playing waltzes.
